"We immediately engaged a reserve aircraft to take to Antalya airport (Turkey) all the passengers of DM-2361 flight which departure was scheduled for 2:30 p.m. local time. All the passengers will be provided with hot meals and drinks," the airline representative said.
As for the plane that was hit by the birds, its engine is expected to be replaced in the shortest possible time, the spokesperson added.
Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelian earlier told reporters: "We had a little incident today. The plane that departed from Zhuliany (Kyiv Airport – Ed.) was hit by a bird over Odesa and was forced to return and land at Boryspil [Airport]."
According the website of Boryspil Airport, the Anda Air passenger jet was on its way to Antalya with 174 passengers and six crew members on board.
No one was hurt in the incident.
