As reported by the parliamentary correspondent for Censor.NET, this was said by PPB faction head Artur Herasymov.
"Those who did not vote for the change in CEC composition yesterday broke the promises they gave to their votership and took political responsibility for the maintaining of offices by the old CEC members of Yanukovych era because no procedural obstacle to their replacement exists while the Ukrainian people are looking forward for it. Public demands this. The international partners insist on this.
"It is unacceptable when some political forces, especially those who call themselves democratic ones, pose threat to preparations and holding of transparent and fair presidential and parliamentary elections as well as their legitimacy and international recognition. The president of Ukraine filed his proposal to pick candidates to the CEC two years ago. He filed his proposal once again at the request of some political forces. PPB faction supported each of the president’s proposals but the voting on this issue was constantly dragged out...
"Yesterday, the entire Ukrainian society saw true stance of the political forces of the Ukrainian parliament, saw the difference between their promises and the way they keep them. The far-fetched reasoning used by the opponents of the CEC members’ replacement is frank manipulation. This is evidenced by the support for the president's proposals demonstrated by all the democratic groups and factions, which never questioned them until it came to the voting ... The PPB faction asks the Verkhovna Rada speaker to make sure that one of the first issues at the next sessional week will be replacement of CEC members. Stripping lawmakers of immunity and completion of the Anti-Corruption Court creation must also be considered as soon as possible," Herasymov said from the parliament rostrum.
"It’s not about disputes; it’s not about someone’s early election concerns. It’s not about this at all. The question is very simple: do we support replacement of CEC members or not. Our position remains unchanged. We are going to make every effort for the country to have a renewed CEC next week," he said on the sidelines of parliament
