France urges Ukraine to implement latest agreements reached by Normandy Four FMs

In a telephone conversation, French President Emmanuel Macron called his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko for soonest implementation of measures aimed at establishing peace in the Donbas.

As reported by Censor.NET citing Deutsche Welle, Paris believes that all parties to the conflict must instantly implement all those measures that the foreign ministers of the Normandy Four (Germany, France, Ukraine, Russia) agreed upon earlier.

This inter alia includes observing the truce, protection of civil infrastructure, and compliance with the Minsk agreements.

The press office of the Ukrainian president earlier said that Presidents Macron and Poroshenko discussed the security situation in the Donbas, the need to deploy the UN peacekeeping forces all across the occupied territory and other critical issues. Poroshenko also invited Macron to visit Ukraine.

As reported, the foreign ministers of Germany, France, Ukraine, and Russia met in Berlin on June 11. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said after the meeting that the parties discussed deployment of the UN peacekeeping mission in the Donbas and the release of Ukrainian political prisoners unlawfully held in the Russian Federation.
