Two Ukrainian soldiers killed, six injured in past day as Russian proxies intensified attacks with banned heavy weapons, - JFO center

The situation in the Joint forces operation (JFO) zone deteriorated over the past 24-hour period as combined Russian-separatist troops stepped up mortar and artillery strikes along the entire length of the contact line.

Censor.NET reports citing the latest update by the JFO headquarters press center as of 7 a.m. June 14, 2018.

"Russian-occupying troops committed 33 deliberate attacks on our positions including 15 strikes with 120- and 82-mm mortars and five strikes with 122-mm artillery – the heavy weapons banned by the Minsk agreements.

"At Luhansk section of the frontline, hostilities were underway in the vicinity of Novotoshkivske and Orikhove villages. In Horlivka direction, the enemy attacks were recorded on the outskirts of Troitske, Luhanske, and Pivdenne villages; in Donetsk direction – near Avdiivka, Opytne, Novotroitske and Bohdanivka; at Mariupol section of the forefront – on the outskirts of Vodiane and Lebedynske villages. The JFO units steadfastly maintained their strongholds responding adequately to the enemy attacks and forcing the invaders to stop inviting their retaliation," the statement reads.

"Two JFO soldiers were killed in action over the past day and another six were injured and hospitalized. Intelligence sources reported 12 occupants eliminated and 10 wounded on June 14," the press center added.
