Ukraine's PM vows to resign if anti-corruption court law not passed

Head of Ukraine's Government Volodymyr Hroisman says he will quit if parliament fails to uphold creation of a special anti-corruption court at the upcoming session on Thursday.

"I, as prime minister, have made up my mind that if this fair and independent court is not created, I will step down from the post of the prime minister and tender my resignation," Censor.NET quotes Hroisman as saying at a joint briefing with Parliament Speaker Andrii Parubii on June 4.

Ukraine’s Western backers have long called for the authorities to establish an independent court to handle corruption cases. Slow progress has delayed the disbursement of foreign loans.
