Russia Bans Imports of All Cheese Products from Ukraine

The Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-Being (Rospotrebnadzor) has banned imports of all cheese products of Ukrainian origin.

The website of the agency reported Monday that "numerous consumer rights law breaches were revealed," during examination of cheese produced in Ukraine, Censor.NET informs citing Interfax-Ukraine.

"Rospotrebnadzor has suspended imports of cheese products produced in Ukraine into the territory of the Russian Federation," the statement says. The agency notes that the information on the prohibition is directed to the Federal Customs Service and regional Rospotrebnadzor departments. The violations have been revealed within the state supervision over the circulation of food while examination of cheese products produced in Ukraine.

The report says that the samples of the products from the load contained coliform bacteria and Staphylococcus aureus. Earlier, Russia banned imports of almost all kinds of food products, including dairy and confectionery products, juices, canned fish and alcohol from Ukraine.
