No fatalities in Ukrainian army in past day, six soldiers injured in 37 attacks by Russian proxies

The intensity of hostilities in the Joint forces operation (JFO) zone was persistently high over the past 24 hours.

Censor.NET reports citing the latest update by the JFO press service as of May 28.

According to JFO center, high-intensity combat operations were recorded in the vicinity of Krymske, Novotoshkivske, and Zolote villages at Luhansk section of the forefront. The enemy also committed attacks near Svitlodarsk, Novoselivka Druha, Marinka, Novomykhailivka, Starohnativka, Vodiane, and Shyrokyne.

"The Joint Forces units resolutely retaliated the enemy mortar strikes and small arms fire," the report says.

Combined Russian-separatist forces breached truce 37 times over the past day including nine bombardments committed with 82- and 120-mm mortars.

"Six our soldiers were injured in action over the past day. They were promptly taken to hospitals," the JFO center said.

It is noteworthy that the Russian-occupying troops violated international humanitarian law three times yesterday by carrying out acts of terror against civilians: "The invaders shelled Chermalyk village with grenade launcher around 5 a.m. Taking cover in Horlivka’s residential neighborhoods, they mortar-shelled Zalizne village killing a 15-year-old girl at about 11:40 a.m. A civilian sustained shrapnel injuries as the terrorists bombarded Pivdenne village at about 3 p.m."

The agency said criminal cases were initiated into attack on peaceful villages by the Russian-occupying forces.

No casualties were recorded in Ukrainian army between midnight and 7 a.m. today.

"Intelligence sources indicate that three invaders were eliminated and five were wounded in backfire," the JFO press service said.
