"Contrary to the Minsk agreements and international humanitarian law, the Russian-occupation troops committed 49 attacks over the past day including 13 strikes with 152- and 122-mm cannons, 120- and 82-mm mortars. Our military maintained active defense and adequately responded to the enemy attacks preventing the invaders from forcing our units out of their positions.
"At Luhansk section of the forefront, the enemy fired upon Stanytsia Luhanska with large-caliber machine gun and kept trying to weaken defenses of the Ukrainian troops in the vicinity of Troitske village.
"In Horlivka direction, the Ukrainian servicemen maintained active defense on the outskirts of Travneve, Zaitseve, and Pivdenne villages as well as near Avdiivka, Opytne and Krasnohorivka at Donetsk section of the frontline," the situation report reads.
The JFO press center also said that the situation significantly deteriorated near Talakivka, Vodiane, and Shyrokyne villages in Mariupol’s larger area: "The enemy was fiercely bombarding peaceful Ukrainian village of Talakivka located in the suburb of Mariupol between 7 and 9 p.m. The invaders fired more than 90 shells having a caliber of 152 mm upon the village. The barrage caused no civilians casualties but the village's industrial premises were damaged. The situation is under the control of the Joint forces. Ukrainian military, police, and rescuers from among the Joint forces are dealing with the artillery strike aftermath.
"One our soldier was killed and three others were injured in action over the past 24 hours. The injuries sustained by the Ukrainian soldiers are not thought to be life-threatening. No one was killed or injured today," the statement reads.
Intelligence sources say four Russian mercenaries were killed and another four were injured in backfire.
