No casualties in Ukrainian army in past day amid 55 attacks by Russian mercenaries, three terrorists injured in retaliation fire, - JFO center

Combined Russian-terrorist forces violated cease-fire 55 times over the past 24-hour period using heavy weapons banned by the Minsk accords in 19 cases.

Censor.NET reports citing the latest update by the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) press center as of May 21.

"Active hostilities were underway at Svitlodarsk, Horlivka, Donetsk, and Mariupol sections of the forefront. Russian-occupation forces breached truce 55 times including 19 strikes with weapons banned by the Minsk agreements. The JFO units maintained active defense and adequately responded to the enemy attacks," the report reads.

It is noted that the situation in the Luhansk region was less tense with high-intensity battles recorded mainly on the Svitlodarsk salient near Troitske and Luhanske villages.

"In Horlivka direction, the enemy being covered by mortar strikes tried in vain to force our troops out from their positions on the outskirts of Zaitseve, Shumy, and Novhorodske villages. Violating the norms of the international law, the invaders heavily bombarded residential houses in Zaitseve with mortars at 5 a.m. on May 20," the agency said.

The enemy also continues carrying out high-intensity attacks in the vicinity of Avdiivka, Pisky, Krasnohorivka, and Marinka villages at Donetsk section of the frontline.

"In Mariupol direction, active hostilities kept being recorded near Vodiane and Shyrokyne villages.

"The JFO forces suffered no battle casualties yesterday and today. Intelligence sources indicate that three invaders were injured in action over the past day while its other losses are still being counted," the situation report says.
