No fatalities in Ukrainian army over past day, seven soldiers injured in 60 enemy attacks, six Russian terrorists killed, one injured in backfire

Combined Russian-separatist forces keep violating truce in Joint Forces Operation (JFO) zone: Ukrainian troops came under 60 attacks including 26 artillery and mortar strikes over the past 24 hours.

Censor.NET reports citing the latest update by the JFO headquarters press center as of May 17, 2018.

"The enemy stepped up attacks in the vicinity of Novoluhanske, Troitske, Svitlodarsk, Zaitseve, Avdiivka, Opytne, and Vodiane villages. Ukrainian troops maintained active defense and adequately responded to invaders’ fire," the statement reads.

Seven JFO soldiers were reportedly injured in combat operations on May 17.

Intelligence sources indicate that six invaders were eliminated and one received injury in retaliation fire.

The agency also noted that JFO Commander, Lieutenant-General Serhii Naiev, late yesterday held an extraordinary meeting with Alexander Hug, Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine.

The parties frankly and constructively discussed ongoing escalation of the situation in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, artillery strikes committed by Russian-terrorist forces, etc.
