"On Monday, May 7, 2018, the Kyiv’s local prosecutor's office No. 7 served charge papers to a 25-year-old woman who attacked an anti-terrorist operation veteran along with several other assailants in Kyiv’s Podil area on May 2, 2018. Operatives of the Security Service of Ukraine apprehended her in Kharkiv. The offense committed by the perpetrators was determined as the crime punished under part 4 of article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (criminal mischief committed by a group of persons using a tool intentionally adapted and prepared in advance for causing bodily harm). A motion on her bail hearing is being drafted. The article provides penalty of 3 to 7 years in prison. The pretrial investigation is underway. The law enforcers take steps to identify other members of the crime ring," the agency said.
As reported, Verbych was attacked at 59/5 Kostiantynivska Street in Kyiv on May 2. He was stabbed in the lower back and sprayed with tear gas. The attackers tried to kill him with a hammer then. The attackers of the ex-'Cyborg' - a nickname given to Ukrainian soldiers who defended Donetsk airport - were subsequently detained in Kharkiv. The SBU says the attack was wasterminded by a Russian national who later fled to Poland.
