No one killed in Donbas over past day, four Ukrainian soldiers injured, one traumatized amidst 44 attacks, - ATO HQ

Combined Russian-separatist forces committed 44 attacks on Ukrainian military personnel over the past 24 hours repeatedly using weapons banned by the Minsk agreements.

Censor.NET reports citing the latest update by the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) headquarters press center as of April 23, 2018.

"Along Luhansk section of the forefront, the invaders bombarded Ukrainian troops’ defenses near Troitske with banned 120-mm mortars, 82-mm mortars, and grenade launchers. Using 82-mm mortars, the enemy also shelled the outskirts of Popasna and committed three strikes in the vicinity of Novooleksandrivka. Defenders of Novozvanivka came under grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns fire while Novoselivka defenders were fired upon with anti-aircraft guns and small arms.

"In Donetsk direction, the invaders shelled the Ukrainian forces’ positions near Vodiane with 120-mm mortars and blanketed approaches to Butivka mine with 82-mm mortars. The militants employed grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns, and small arms against defenders of Verkhniotoretske, Vodiane, Hnutove, Kamianka, Avdiivka, Butivka mine and Talakivka. Ukrainian strong points near Pavlopil, Marinka, and Lebedynske were fired upon with large-caliber machine guns. Attacks with small arms were recorded near Nevelske, Pavlopil, Lebedynske, and Pyshchevyk. The enemy snipers committed attacks near Krasnohorivka and Marinka.

"Four Ukrainian soldiers were injured in action and another one received combat trauma over the past 24-hour period. The injured servicemen were taken to hospitals and provided with all the necessary medical care," the statement reads.

Earlier, Russian mercenaries committed 30 attacks on the ATO forces on April 22.
