PM Hroisman: “Our goal is to include all state-subsidized drugs into Accessible Medications medicare”

The Accessible Medications medicare was launched a year ago and has since won approval of 91 percent of Ukrainians.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman wrote on social media, Censor.NET reports.

"I am happy that it (the Accessible Medications program - Ed.) has resulted not in cold statistics but improved people's health and their support for this initiative. Statistics say that 91 percent of Ukrainians approve the program as it really helps saving the family budget," he wrote.

Hroisman noted that according to the Health Ministry’s estimates, a family having a member suffering from type 2 diabetes and another one suffering from bronchial asthma could be able to save about a thousand hryvnia (about $38) a month in treatment expenditures while a person suffering from heart insufficiency would save about 200 hryvnia per month in treatment costs.

"But that's not all. There is an overarching goal to include into Accessible Medications medicare all the state-subsidized drugs which health consumers receive on an ambulatory basis," the prime minister added.
