MP Bakulin put on national wanted list

Police put a member of the Opposition bloc parliamentary faction Yevhen Bakulin on national wanted list. The lawmaker allegedly disappeared on March 19, several days after the Verkhovna Rada stripped him of immunity and sanctioned his arrest and bail hearing.

As reported by Censor.NET, the relevant all-points bulletin (APB) was posted at the Wanted persons section on the Interior Ministry’s website. The APB was last time updated April 2, 2018. It says that Bakulin "evades prosecution" since March 19, 2018.

On March 15, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stripped Opposition bloc MP Bakulin of immunity, sanctioned his arrest and imposition of pretrial restriction on him.

The Prosecutor General's Office summoned Bakulin to testify as a suspect in the case on April 5.

The lawmaker is charged with embezzlement of funds belonging to Naftohaz Ukrainy through abuse of office, forgery, money laundering.
