Ukraine’s PM Hroisman believes severance of economic relations with Russia to make country stronger

The decision of the Ukrainian government to close down the program for economic cooperation with the Russian Federation launched in 2011 will benefit Ukraine, balance its export policy, and make the country stronger.

As reported by Censor.NET citing a statement on the government’s website, this was said by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman.

"It was Russia that made unacceptable steps: the war in the Donbas, economic pressure. That’s why we were forced to make that decision. Our exports to Europe and Asia are growing. We become even stronger because of the severance," the head of the government said.

According to the prime minister, it is necessary to boost manufacture in Ukraine in order to develop national product.

"I am glad that we have got rid of our dependence on Russia. We have our own immense potential," he added.
