Ukraine’s acting health minister: Nationwide campaign to sign agreements with family doctors starts April 1

A campaign for signing contracts with the family doctors as part of the healthcare reform will be launched on April 1, 2018. The Health Ministry issued a guide on how to sign such a declaration.

As reported by Censor.NET, the guideline was posted by Acting Health Minister Ulana Suprun on social media.

The nationwide campaign to sign agreements with doctors starts April 1. To do this, everyone must come to a healthcare facility where the desired doctor works. To conclude a contract, one must bring one’s passport, tax ID and a cell phone. If an agreement is being concluded with a pediatrician or a baby doctor, a child's birth certificate is also required.

The healthcare facility where the picked doctor works must be registered in the E-health system. This information can be obtained from the registry or the doctor, or on the website of the E-health.

During registration, the healthcare consumer’s personal information, as well as one’s contact number will be entered into the Electronic Health system by authorized personnel of the primary healthcare facility: in different hospitals this can be a registrar, a nurse, or a doctor.

The authorized employee of the healthcare facility seals the agreement by one’s electronic signature and submits it to the Electronic Health system.

"When a health care provider becomes autonomous and enters into an agreement with the National Health Service, the state will start paying the medical facility compensation for the services provided by the picked doctor," Suprun said.

As reported, the Electronic Health system was transferred to the state ownership free of charge and is already operating in the test mode.
