"A fire at the 235th combined-arms training facility broke out last night due to violation of safety rules when using a stove. The fire inflicted fatal injuries on a soldier. Seven other military received burns of various degrees of severity. The injured servicemen were taken to the Mykolaiv-based military hospital. There is no immediate threat to their lives," the statement reads.
It is noted that an official investigation has been initiated to establish the cause of the fire that led to the death of a serviceman. The investigation is carried out by the Mykolaiv district police department and the military prosecutor's office.
"The southern territorial fire protection department carried out the fire safety inspection of the tent camp on March 12 and found no violations," the report reads.
