PACE Recognized that Russian Regular Troops Entered Ukraine and Support Terrorists

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a resolution in which it acknowledged that Russia has sent regular troops to Ukraine.

This decision was made at the PACE session on Thursday night, European Pravda reports.

"Russia provides support to the armed insurgents in the east of Ukraine, including direct military intervention in the conflict," the document says.

In the text of the resolution as a separate item the Assembly called on the Russian Federation "to stop providing any military support to the insurgents, to withdraw its troops from the east of Ukraine and from the Ukrainian border and to refrain from any action that directly or indirectly aggravate the situation in the East of Ukraine."

Note that these provisions were not in the original document, which was prepared for the session. Both items were submitted by a group of deputies during the preparation for the hearing and unanimously approved by the PACE Monitoring Committee Thursday morning. It did not allow the supporters of Russia to take steps for "neutralizing" given provisions of the document.
