Gazprom's actions make Ukrainian gas transportation system operate in maximum load, - Naftohaz CEO Koboliev

Low pipeline upstream pressure caused the Ukrainian gas transportation system operate in maximum load.

Chairman of the Board of Naftohaz Ukrainy NJSC Andrii Koboliev told Channel 5, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"We have sufficient amount of gas. Our underground storage facilities are full. The problem is that it is extremely hard for us to maintain both sustainable transit and consumption due to considerable decrease in pipeline upstream pressure. The [gas transportation] system operates in maximum load," Koboliev said.

As reported, Ukraine may face gas shortfall of about 10 million cubic meters per day during cold snaps over Gazprom's refusal to sell ordered volumes of gas to Naftohaz Ukrainy. Moreover, according to Ukrtranshaz, the pressure in the gas transit pipelines dropped to this year’s lowest level of 50.3 Kgf/cm2G on March 1 while the transit contract stipulates that Russia should maintain pipeline upstream pressure of at least 60 Kgf/cm2G.
