Several deputies said that the land should not be rented out especially given the fact that the firm expected to take a lease of the land was associated with pro-government lawmakers Serhii Bulla and Kostiantyn Petrochuk.
The activists and deputies who opposed the decision to rent the land out first demanded that the issue be reviewed.
When Hryhorii Pustovit presiding over a meeting refused to do so, they launched a protest, blocked out presidium, and turned on music loudly. Municipal guards and athletically built unknown individuals joined the pro-government lawmakers in several clashes that took place afterwards.
The land plot on Rivnenska Street was nevertheless leased out by the decision of 23 council members. The deputies decided to rent out almost 2 hectares of the communal property at 119 Rivnenska Str. for a 10-year period.
During the voting, a city council member Pavlo Danylchuk turned the music on and tried to breakthrough to the rostrum with a loudspeaker but municipal guards and athletically built individuals prevented him from doing so.
