Minimum wage may be raised up to 4,100 hryvnia by end of Q1, Deputy PM Rozenko says

The Ukrainian government may increase the minimum wage up to 4,100 hryvnia (about $150) by the end of Q1 2018.

Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister Pavlo Rozenko said on air of Channel 5Censor.NET reports.

"The minimum wage of 3,723 hryvnia is now codified in the state budget and I personally fully support the president’s initiative that the government should assess whether it is possible and when it will be possible to make it 4,100 hryvnia. Moreover, the Verkhovna Rada set a certain deadline when it should be done - by the end of the first quarter," the official said.

Rozenko also mentioned significant additional income received by the Pension Fund which made "this prospect to seem quite realistic."

"I hope that this decision will be jointly made following the results of the first or second quarters," the deputy prime minister said.
