A member of the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade, Junior Sergeant Dmytro Syskov, was killed in action around 10 a.m. on Feb. 12.

Censor.NET reports citing the statement by the Chernihiv-based military enlistment office.

Dmytro, born in 1980, was a native of Chernihiv. He graduated a local secondary school in 1997 and was on compulsory military service as a member of the State Emergency Service from 1998 to 2000.

Syskov performed military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine on a voluntary enlistment basis as a driver from May 25, 2015 to Sept. 19, 2016. He was discharged due to reductions in staff and shortly got a job in Normal-Ukraine LLC involved in construction and installation works.

Dmytro has been defending Ukraine’s independence and sovereignty on a voluntary enlistment basis since October 2016.
