As reported by Censor.NET, this was said by First Deputy Chief of the Urban Development Department of the Kyiv City Council Taras Panchi at the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada’s subcommittee on interaction with civil society.
According to him, all the papers necessary for removal of constriction trailers installed near the basement of the ruined ancient church have already been issued. However, he did not specify the deadlines for the removal of trailers due to the protests of the members of the church constructed over the ruins of the Church of the Tithes by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church under the Moscow Patriarchate.
"The situation there is pretty tricky. Each time when we get ready to start dismantling, the people who call themselves members of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church under the Moscow Patriarchate come out and allege that we violate their right of chapel," he said.
In turn, People's Deputy Ihor Lutsenko said that it would be better for the Kyiv authorities to make the relevant decision public, "otherwise, this may take up to half a century to implement it."
The decision stipulates only removal of the constriction trailers installed around the church illegally constructed by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church under the Moscow Patriarchate. Demolition of the church itself must be authorized by the court.
