No Ukrainian soldier was killed or injured as the Russian-backed militants committed two attacks in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone over the past 24-hour period.

Censor.NET reports citing the update by the ATO headquarters press center as of Jan. 21, 2018.

"The truce along the entire demarcation line was observed almost all day long yesterday. However, the Russian-occupation troops could not help committing armed provocations in blatant violation of the Minsk peace accords around 11 p.m. yesterday. Two militants’ attacks on Ukrainian Armed Forces’ positions were recorded over the past day.

“The enemy employed heavy mortars against Ukrainian troops at the Svitlodarsk salient in Luhansk direction. The invaders fired upon the ATO forces deployed on the outskirts of Luhanske village with 120-mm mortars and large-caliber machine guns twice from the villages of Nyzhnie Lozove and Kalynivka which are temporarily beyond control of the Ukrainian government.

“No cease-fire violations were recorded in other sections of the frontline. No Ukrainian soldier was killed or injured in enemy attacks over the past 24-hour period," the situation report reads.
