Russian invaders sentence pro-Ukrainian activist Balukh to 3 years and 7 months in penal settlement

3 years and 7 months of the penal colony settlement and a fine of 10,000 rubles – such verdict was passed by the so-called ‘judge’ of the Razdolnensky District Court of Crimea Yelena Tedeeva to pro-Ukrainian activist Volodymyr Balukh.

As reported by Censor.NET citing Hromadske, this ruling has actually echoed the verdict previously overturned by the "Supreme Court of Crimea."

Before the trial, Balukh addressed those who came to support him: "This is not a death sentence after all. I guess all of this will be sorted out soon. I just want to wish Ukraine not to surrender and the people of Ukraine to keep fighting for what so many people - the country’s finest sons - gave up their lives... If what is happening to me is a sacrifice ... I do not consider it to be one... everything will be okay. We will be victorious. Everything will be Maidan!"

Activists of the Crimean Cultural Center, a priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church under Kyiv Patriarchate, members of the Mejlis and Kurultay came to support Balukh.

He was taken into custody immediately after his verdict was passed.
