"We don’t trade Crimea for ships, don’t sell or exchange it" – Ukraine’s lawmaker slams Putin’s offer to take hardware from Crimea

First Deputy Speaker of the Ukrainian parliament Iryna Herashchenko responded to Russian president’s statement that Moscow was allegedly willing to give Ukraine back its ships captured during Crimea occupation.

The lawmaker wrote on social media, Censor.NET reports.

"We don’t trade Crimea for ships, don’t sell or exchange it. These vessels stolen by Putin indeed belong to us. They were brought to a dreadful condition by the invaders as well as Crimea. Everything the Russian world touches falls into disrepair. We shall return Crimea along with all Ukrainian assets left there including ships. The same applies to the Donbas," she said.

On Jan. 11, President Putin offered Kyiv to take back warships captured by Russia in occupied Crimea. Commenting on the Russian president’s statement, Ukrainian Navy Commander Voronchenko denied allegations of the mentioned equipment’s poor condition.
