Ukraine’s government seeks raising pensions of persons with long employment service, Deputy PM Rozenko says

Ukrainian government develops a mechanism to increase pensions to those who have a long labor experience.

Deputy Prime Minister Pavlo Rozenko said on air of Channel 5Censor.NET reports.

"The issue that must be definitely addressed concerns those whose pensions have been insufficiently updated during the pension reform implemented in October 2017. First of all, I am concerned about the people having a huge 35-40-45 year-long pensionable service who used to work for meager salary.

“It should be clear that a person's pension depends on one’s length of service and salary. Therefore it is obvious that the pension of a person who received small salary was slightly increased which seems to be quite fair. On the other hand we realize that a person who worked for 40 years has the right to get larger pension payments.

"We have appropriate instruction regarding this issue and we are going to offer a mechanism that will scale up these people’s pensions as well," Rosenko said.
