For two years the victim had sought punishment for a resident of Demydiv village Dmytro Rossoshanskyi charged with committing hit-and-run under influence in which Nozdrovska’s sister Svitlana Sapatynska was killed. Rossoshanskyi’s uncle chaired Vyshgorod district court at that time.

Obukhiv court sentenced Rossoshanskyi to seven years in prison following the trial that lasted more than two years. Rossoshanskyi’s lawyers nearly managed to set the criminal free under amnesty at the hearing in Kyiv-based Court of Appeals on Dec. 27. The appellate court ruled the court of first instance to review the case and left Rossoshanskyi in custody for 60 days.
