PM Hroisman slams Ukroboronprom head Romanov over staff salary arrears, advises him to resign

Ukraine’s Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroisman advised Director General of Ukroboronprom State Concern Roman Romanov to file resignation over unsettled salary arrears of the Mykolaiv-based shipyard staff.

As reported by Censor.NET, Hroisman said at today’s Cabinet meeting.

"I remind you that we have recently discussed clearing up salary arrears at the Mykolaiv shipyard. First of all, I instructed Ukroboronprom head to settle the arrears. Dec. 25 was designated the target date. Today is Dec. 27 but the backlog is still there. I will sign the motion and appeal to the president... I advise Ukroboronprom head to resign. Find another job if you are unable to deliver on your promises," the PM told the stet-run enterprise CEO.

Hroisman explained that his strong words were caused by the fact that the Ukroboronprom executives failed to settle salary arrears of the Mykolaiv shipyard employees. The prime minister said the new head of Ukroboronprom would definitely find the opportunity to pay off the debt.

Romanov was appointed Ukroboronprom director general in July 2014.
