Russian proxies breached truce 35 times in past day, fiercely shelled Butivka mine, - ATO HQ

The Russian-occupation troops continue employing mortars of various calibers against the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) forces in gross violation of the Minsk peace deal.

Censor.NET reports citing the update by the ATO headquarters press center as of Dec. 10, 2017.

“In Luhansk direction, the enemy repeatedly shelled the ATO forces’ defenses in the vicinity of Triokhizbenka, Krymske, Novotoshkivske, Travneve, and Zaitseve with mortars of various types.

“The invaders also heavily fired upon positions near aforementioned villages and strong points on the outskirts of Lozove, Novooleksandrivka, Svitlodarsk, and Luhanske with grenade launchers of various types and light infantry weapons.

“The outskirts of Avdiivka remained the epicenter of battles recorded in Donetsk direction: more than three dozen of 82-mm mortar projectiles hit our positions near Butivka mine late yesterday. The defenders of Kamianka, Avdiivka and Krasnohorivka were fired upon with grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns. The defenders of Starohnativka in the Azov Sea littoral came under the enemy harassing fire with small arms.

"The invaders breached truce 35 times over the past 24-hour period. All enemy attacks posing immediate threat to our soldiers were suppressed with grenade launchers, machine guns, and small arms,” the situation report reads.

Earlier, the Russian mercenaries committed 39 attacks on the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ positions on Dec. 9.
