PPB faction head Herasymov seeks law enforcement chiefs to report on recent conflict between agencies

Leader of Petro Poroshenko Bloc (PPB) faction Artur Herasymov demands the chiefs of NABU, SAP, PGO and SBU to be summoned to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to report on recent developments in the case of State Migration Service First Deputy Chief Dina Pimakhova and the NABU agents.

As reported by the parliamentary correspondent for Censor.NET, Herasymov said at the parliament’s coordination board.

"Our faction fully shares the Ukrainian president’s view - we consider conflicts, quarrels, and enmity between the law enforcement agencies to be unacceptable," he said.

The MP said that the law enforcement bodies should first of all confront crime and corruption, "but not engage in attention-grabbing stunt and allegations against other law enforcement agencies through making public statements."

Herasymov says the PPB faction also fully supports Prosecutor General Lutsenko’s statement that only lawful methods should be used to fight against corruption.

"Because a lot of questions need to be answered: how comes that banned smuggled equipment was used for wiretapping; how did the persons without security clearance got access to the classified information; who authorized, for instance, NABU members to set entrapments in violation of the norms of the European Court of Human Rights; who will bear responsibility for this? Finally, there is a question why the law on NABU is being grossly violated?" Herasymov said noting that the NABU auditor hadn’t still been elected.

He recalled that the majority of votes for the law on NABU was cast by the PPB faction members: "Therefore I would like to ask you, Andrii Volodymyrovych (Parubii - Ed.), to urgently summon the chiefs of NABU, SAP, PGO and SBU to the Verkhovna Rada in order to hear their reports and pose them some questions."
