This is stated in the press service of the SBU, Censor.NET reports.
"The attackers under the instructions of the Russian special services tried to enter the territory controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, to perform acts of sabotage aimed at destabilizing the situation in the region," the statement said.
In particular, Sinko and Shekhovtsov had photo ID cards of the so-called "Ministry of State Security of the DPR", the Vostok battalion with call signs Siniy (Blue) and Zakhar.
According to the SBU, in the DPR Sinko was a guard and executioner of the Ukrainian military personnel and civilians, and Shekhovtsov was a militant of the Vostok battalion with permanent deployment in the captured Khartsyzk traffic police premises.
The SBU registered criminal proceedings regarding the detainees on the grounds of crime under Part 1, Article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "creation of a terrorist group or terrorist organization."
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine has already identified 1,800 militants involved in the LPR and 1,500 people operating within the DPR.
