12 Armed Terrorist from the Gang, Lead by "Chechen," Arrested in Mariupol


Ukrainian soldiers detained 12 armed militants who are members of “Chechen’s” terrorist group.

This is reported by the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine, Censor.NET writes.

It has been established that during April-June, the terrorist organization members carried out a series of armed attacks on one of the military units of the Internal Troops of Ukraine, Mariupol city department of Ministry of Internal Affairs, blocked administrative buildings in Mariupol, took active part in riots, kidnapped civilians, stole vehicles, committed robbery, etc.

During the arrest, the Security Service confiscated automatic weapons, machine guns and grenade launchers, live ammunition and explosives. Twelve participants of the terrorist group were informed that they are suspected in committing crimes and are facing up to fifteen years of imprisonment.

The Investigation Division of the Security Service in the Zaporizhzhia region initiated criminal proceedings on the grounds of an offense under Article 258 Part 1 of 3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (the creation of a terrorist organization). The investigation continues.
