Kuzmin Keeps Asking for Visa U.S. - State Department Shows Disrespect for Ukraine as a Whole

First Deputy Prosecutor General Renat Kuzmin cannot attend the National Prayer Breakfast with the participation of U.S. President Barack Obama as the U.S. Embassy is delaying his visa.

It is reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

"Unfortunately, I cannot accept your kind invitation, as the U.S. Embassy here in Kiev, continues to delay my visa so that I do not have enough time to organize the trip which would allow me to attend this important event. The situation is such despite the fact that my request for a visa was submitted in accordance with the established procedure and within the time limits for the processing of such request," says a letter sent to the U.S. Congress by Kuzmin, which was published on the website of the General Prosecutor's Office.
In a letter to Congress, the first Deputy Prosecutor General has concluded that "the behavior of the U.S. Department of State shows a clear lack of respect for Ukraine in general and to me as one of its citizens."
"This behavior is, in my view, also reflects the lack of respect for the U.S. Congress, which gave me the honor to participate in this worldwide spiritual event," says Kuzmin.

First Deputy expressed his regret that he could not participate in the National Prayer Breakfast. He noted that this breakfast in the U.S. is a spiritual festival, which aims to promote common goals of goodwill and cooperation between many countries and religions to be represented there."It's a shame that this fact was ignored in the U.S. State Department's decision to deprive me of the opportunity to take part in the most useful of the festivities," said R.Kuzmin.
As previously reported, Kuzmin in a letter to U.S. President Barack Obama said that on October 19, 2012, Ambassador John Tefft told him that his five year multi visa to the US was cancelled without explanation.

On December 10 Tefft publicly confirmed that Kuzmin's visa was indeed canceled and explained it by the provisions of the American law. He added that Kuzmin knows the reason why he was denied a visa, but the ambassador himself has no right to publish it.At the same time, responding to a question whether this is related to the latest resolution of the Congress, Tefft said: "The cancelling of the visa is in no way related to the decision of the Congress, these things are not related."
