Currency Tax Will Be Introduced But Lowered to 10%, Source Says

The Verkhovna Rada may adopt a law on 10% currency tax on Tuesday.

This is reported by sources of the Ukrainian Pravda.

According to the source, the National Bank has decided to reduce the tax rate from 15% to 10%, and in this manner pull it through the parliament.

However, the first deputy head of the Party of Regions faction in the Verkhovna Rada Mikhailo Chechetov confirmed to Komsomolskaya Pravda in Ukraine that on December 4 the parliament will vote for the introduction of a 15% tax on the sale of foreign currency, if the National Bank decides to introduce the bill.

"We have to correct the situation, when dirty speculations of certain financial institutions shake the hryvnia. We have not even passed the bill but simply discussed it and the dollar has stabilized. So we need to continue," he said in an interview.

As it was reported deputy of the Party of Regions and a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance and Banking Vasyl Horbal also said that the 15% bill may be considered by this parliament.

The bill on the introduction of a 15% commission was registered in the Verkhovna Rada on November 19.

However, on November 20 the VR postponed its consideration indefinitely, because the author MP Vitaly Homutynnik withdrew the bill.
